ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
Right after wrapping her fist feature film, 'Chi-Raq," directed by the legendary Spike Lee, Michelle Mitchenor went on her first mission trip to Uganda. While there, she taught free dance classes to the participants of Breakdance Project Uganda. From that experience, was the birth of The Mitchenor Foundation.
Since then, Michelle has been making annual trips to Uganda, teaching dance and spreading the importance of the arts in children's lives. TMF has now expanded to Skid Row, Los Angeles, and India where she and her Tribe provide performing and visual arts classes to children living in underserved and transient communities. TMF has formed many partnerships, creating and maintaining programming internationally and on a regular basis at The Union Rescue Mission in Skid Row Los Angeles.
